Hi guys!
I just can’t believe I’ve never shared this simple Vanilla Cake with you! I’ve tried all sorts of cake, Apple Cake, Blueberry Cake, Halloween Cakes, … But never have I shared a cake as simple and ‘ordinary’ as a Vanilla Cake!
Shame on me…
(I have to admit that I never even made one before!)
But I’ll make it up to you 🙂
May I present to you: my easy peasy simple Vanilla Cake!
What do we need:
- 250 g butter
- 250 g sugar
- 2 bags of vanilla sugar (+- 16 g)
- 250 g self-raising flour
- 4 eggs
- baking tin
- baking paper
How to:
Preheat the oven at 180°C.
Put some baking paper in your baking tin. This will make it a lot easier to get your cake out of the tin in one beautiul piece. (plus you don’t have to work so hard to get that cake off your tin when you’re doing the dishes 😉 )
Mix the butter, the vanilla sugar and the sugar until the sugar is fully absorbed.
Add the eggs one at a time while you keep mixing.
Sift the flour and add it to the batter.
Put the batter in the baking tin and bake the cake for about 50 minutes.
Check with a toothpeck or a sharp knife when it’s done. If it comes out clean, that cake is ready to be eaten!
(let it cool first… Try to BEHAVE…)
This cake is delicious! Simple, but so good 🙂
Odd thing: it may be a bit dry but it’ll be much better the next day. Really don’t know why that is…
Maybe it’s just because we were eating the middle of the cake the next day and this part of the cake is a bit taller, so it might have more lightness?
I don’t know.
Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy the cake!
Have a delicious day ❤
xxx Sarah

This cake looks delicious and I like the recipe’s simplicity. Nice tip on using baking paper to line the cake pan. It totally eliminates the fear factor out of unmolding a cake.
